Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman holds a distinguished chair in psychology in the University of California Davis and is Director of the Center for Public Policy Research. It is believed that she was the one responsible for initiating the modern study of the memory of witnesses and the role of children in witnessing. Professor Goodman, who has numerous research publications as well as numerous grants to her name she is also the winner of numerous national and global prizes. She has provided advice on policy and research to numerous agencies and government departments around the globe. She currently serves as consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center at Sacramento County Child Protective Services (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center). She is a member of numerous professional organizations, including Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. Professor Goodman is also a member of Psychonomics Society, the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has served as director of 3 divisions (Division Society for Policy on Child and Family as well as Practice Division of the American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology) and one Section (Child Maltreatment) of the American Psychological Association.
