Anoushka Shankar Anoushka Shankar, an Indian-born British American singer and musician is best known for her musical talents. She was awarded the British House of Commons' Shield as the youngest, and the first female to receive it. Alongside the nine Grammy awards, she was also the first musician of Indian origin to be a presenter and performer at the award ceremony. Anoushka Shankar is among India's rising stars in the sitar. She is a scholar and daughter of the famous Ravi Shankar. She was born 1982 in London. The first few years of her life were spent between London as well as New Delhi. In New Delhi, she made her debut at just thirteen years of age. She then moved in Encinitas CA, where she obtained the High School diploma with honors in 1999. Anouskha, who is only a teenager, has had a successful performing and recording career. Since quite some time, she has been performing regularly with her father. She released her first solo album Anourag in 1998. In 2002, she debuted her Grammy award-winning album Live At Carnegie Hall. Since she's performed at all the major stages in all over the globe, her performance career has been extensive. The career of Anoushka doesn't only involve music. She also published Bapi, the Heart of My Life, in the year 2002.
